It is understandable to want to uphold the tradition of family togetherness and joy during the holiday season, but a household entrapped by alcohol and drug addiction is not welcomed by holiday joy, but rather shadowed with fear, dysfunction, pain and helplessness. The Recovery Place Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center fears the traditions of the holiday season will deter those struggling with addiction from seeking treatment.
The holidays are the most wonderful time of year, but for those struggling with addiction the exact opposite can be true. While families, friends and loved ones are gathering for holiday celebrations a time when alcohol abuse is even more socially acceptable than usual those struggling with addiction are at greater risk of reaching new lows in their disease.
While family togetherness is one of the highlights of the holiday season, some families and loved ones find themselves enabling addictive behaviors or deep in denial of the addiction to keep their loved one home for this special time of year.
The holiday season also brings a rise in drinking and driving, relapse rates, and depression. The Recovery Place understands these threats and seeks to educate the public about its holiday concerns, as well as counsel those in need of addiction treatment.

Commonly question about The Recovery Place Advises on Alcohol and Drug Addiction During the Holidays
Do you think it is acceptible to give advice on using or buying dangerous drugs to get high with?To my dismay, I see question after question about using or buying dangerous and often illegal drugs and answers advising people to go ahead and do so. The way I interpret the guidelines it is a violation to give harmful or illegal advice, especially to minors. Experience with the horrors of drug abuse and addiction in my own family and my experience working as a volunteer in a drug and alcohol recovery center for young men for two years just appall me to see such things here. All the injured and waste lives, and all the deaths . . .
Actually, I don t think the term Alernative Medicine actually encompasses illegal and dangerous drug use in the first place.
What do you think?
I actually wonder why they allow that sort of thing in the first place, anywhere on the Yahoo Answers platform....especially considering that the average user on here is in highschool...
I guess they figure pot is herbal, so its not such a stretch to put robotripping here either....
I ve lost more people than I care to admit to - and some of them very dear to me - to illegal drug use....and everyone of those people has said to me "man, I don t think I would be in this boat, if I had only avoided that joint in ninth grade"
Sure, some people can smoke pot and not have detrimental effects, but I m guessing more than a couple of these kiddies will end up with serious drug problems - if the number of "how do I quit _____" questions are an indicator....
Y know whats sad though....if you try writing the Yamster, you aren t going to get a worthwhile response or change.....the yamster is whatever 20 year old intern that happens to get your email. He doesn t have the authority...adn won t forward it to anyone who does either...
But it is a shame...a freaking crying shame.
